Alex Salazar has Entrepreneurship in his DNA. His mother is an entrepreneur. His father was an entrepreneur. Twelve aunts and uncles as well as all four grandparents are entrepreneurs. At home he saw his mother build two Inc. 500 companies in their garage, grow them against the odds, and sell them for remarkable profits. While studying Computer Science at Georgia Tech he worked for two different start-ups through the boom and the bust. And after each went belly-up, he started his own security software company which was a spectacular failure. Shortly after, he joined IBM's sales organization in an effort to learn how to take products to market and work with customers. There he excelled and progressed through three different groups in five years - First selling small servers to local governments and then selling digital media solutions to large US media firm. Most recently, he was the account manager for three major accounts in New York City where he was responsible for managing the client relationships and leading a team of software, hardware, and services sales specialists. While at IBM, he started an international real estate management company with investments in Panama and Colombia and he also started a small online community for writers. Alex has come to Stanford to round out his knowledge of business and pursue his dreams of owning a successful business.
At Stanford, Alex has immersed himself in the community and leadership as the President of the Entrepreneurs Club, co-Chair for the Entrepreneurship Conference, and a member of the Social Committee.
Alex is thrilled for the opportunity to focus all his energy on leading the Entrepreneurship Club and making it work better for all the its members.
